One of the producers benefiting from the Tropical Fruits project of the District Municipality of Pichari (Cusco) managed to harvest half a ton of passion fruit in one of the demonstration plots installed. Subsequently, the fruit was sold and transported to the regional market of Ayacucho.
The resident, along with the project supervisor and technicians, collected the passion fruit in approximately half a hectare cultivated under the trellis system, obtaining around half a ton of the fruit.
Then the process of cleaning, selection, weighing, and packaging took place, in which the technical team provided direct support to the beneficiaries. Finally, the load was transported to the fruit market of the Ayacucho region, marking a new milestone for the fruit production of the district.
It should be mentioned that, at the district level, the project has sent around four tons of passion fruit to the regional market of Ayacucho.
