The Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA) has initiated the Hay West 2021 program to assist livestock producers affected by drought in western Canada. The program has received support from eastern Canadian farmers, resulting in the pledge of 40,000 bales of hay. This relief effort aims to provide hay to those with breeding herds and access to water, with a focus on areas most impacted by the drought. The program is operating on a break-even basis, with a per-pound price of 10 cents for all supplied hay.
