Cahit Doğan Yağcı, a representative of the Turkish furniture industry, announced that Turkey has ranked eighth in global furniture exports and aims to be among the top five. In the first half of the year, the country exported various products, including paper, furniture, non-wood forest products, and wood products, totaling 202 million dollars, 105 million dollars, 55 million dollars, and 23 million dollars respectively. Turkey leads in the world's exports of laurel and thyme, with non-wood forest products making up 55% of its exports. The furniture industry had a foreign trade surplus of 2.8 billion dollars in 2020 and exports to 220 countries globally and 180 countries from the Aegean Region. The industry's export target for the year is 7.55 billion dollars and 7 billion dollars overall in Turkey.
