The National Food Agency (NFA) and state-owned logistics company, Bulog, are providing an alternative to the community by offering frozen buffalo meat to handle surges in prices and demand for beef during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. The meat is priced at IDR 80,000 per kilogram and will be distributed in modern retail stores and traditional markets. Purchases are capped at two kilograms per person during Ramadan and Eid. The government is calculating the supply and demand of food until next year to maintain stability in food supply and prices. Bulog is distributing the buffalo meat directly to reduce the selling price to consumers.
