The Canadian Ministry of Health and the Food Inspection Agency have approved genetically modified corn MON95275 for consumption, feed, and planting. Developed by Bayer, the corn contains genes from Brevibacillus laterosporus and Bacillus thuringiensis, and introduces a sequence that inhibits the expression of the western corn rootworm gene. This corn has previously been approved for consumption and feed in the United States, and for consumption in Australia and New Zealand.
