Kazakhstan has launched its first contracts for insurance of small ruminants and poultry, with the Fund for Financial Support of Agriculture subsidizing half of the premiums. The new comprehensive insurance product, launched in August, covers deaths, slaughter, losses due to disease, fire, accidents, natural disasters, and theft. The insurance rates vary for horses, small ruminants, and birds, and the procedures are carried out through the Agroinsurance information service on the Qoldau.kz platform. The risks are reinsured through international companies with an 'A' rating in the world market.
