Kazakhstan has seen a significant increase in sunflower seed exports, with a 77% rise to 223,000 tons valued at $115 million in the first nine months of this year. The average export price also increased by 8.8% to $515 per ton. The Ministry of Trade and Integration plans to implement a 20% export customs duty on sunflower seeds starting from 2023, with a minimum of 100 euros per ton, though the Ministry of Agriculture has not indicated any intention to impose quantitative restrictions. Additionally, the country has experienced a sharp increase in sunflower oil production by 66.6% for the first 11 months of the year, and butter exports have also seen a significant rise of 2.5 times, reaching 204.8 thousand tons.
