Gendarmerie teams in Sivas, Turkey, have confiscated 1.8 tonnes of cheeses of unknown origin during a road inspection in the Gemerek district. The driver and owner of the cheeses have been initiated for smuggling and public health endangerment charges. The cheeses, consisting of cheddar and kashar varieties, were lacking delivery notes and were delivered to the District Directorate of Agriculture, Forestry and Food to be destroyed.
