The government of Aragon, Spain, has announced an exceptional aid for sweet fruit farms in the region due to the impact of the Ukraine war and local frosts. The aid application period has started, but the agricultural organization UAGA-COAG has expressed satisfaction with the announcement despite the budget being insufficient and the exclusion of nuts from the aid. The organization also highlighted the sector's significant losses due to low temperatures and emphasized the economic importance of almond trees in dry land areas like Bajo Aragón. UAGA-COAG has pledged to continue advocating for measures to support the dried fruit sector.
