A new aeroponic greenhouse for the production of virus-free seed potatoes has been established at the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) in Pakistan, in collaboration with the Korean Program on International Agriculture (KOPIA). The greenhouse, which has a capacity to grow 9200 plants, was inaugurated by the Minister for National Food Security and Research, Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema, and the Ambassador of South Korea, Suh Sangpyo. The partnership aims to address the issue of low potato production in Pakistan due to the lack of quality seeds, with plans to produce 840,000 tons of virus-free potato seed locally.
