In the Alacalar District of Kırkağaç, a significant agricultural development is underway with the cultivation of seed corn on a 300-decare land, expecting a yield of 12 thousand tons. This initiative, led by the Kırkağaç Chamber of Agriculture in partnership with a private firm, marks the first of its kind in the region. The venture is poised to serve as hybrid seeds, offering a potential income of TL 10,500 per decare if the harvest meets expectations. The company has supported the farmers with seed, fertilizer, and initial financial aid, and if the trial is successful, the seed corn planting is set to expand significantly in the upcoming year. Emin Özarı, the president of the Chamber of Agriculture, expresses optimism for the project, hoping it will bring substantial benefits to the farmers, the company, and the chamber.
