Quang Ninh province is strategically developing its fisheries industry towards sustainability and tourism, producing 12 million shrimp seeds in 2019 and having 19 establishments that supply over 2.5 billion aquatic breeds seeds annually. The province is shifting from extensive aquaculture to industrial processes, focusing on high-value species and advanced technology for efficient farming and environmental protection. Despite challenges such as disease and low productivity, the province plans to become a major aquaculture hub by investing in infrastructure, environmentally friendly practices, and integration with tourism. The goal is to significantly increase shrimp and marine farming production to be among the leading provinces in the country and establish aquaculture as a key economic sector.
