Russia is proposing a joint venture with Serbia for selecting sunflower and corn hybrid seeds. The proposal was made during a meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Serbian committee on trade, economic and scientific-technical cooperation. This comes as Russian farmers are increasingly using domestic breeding achievements, with the market share of these achievements growing and expected to reach significant progress in several crops by 2024, including sunflower, soybeans, rapeseed, potatoes, corn, and sugar beets.
