Vietnam's seafood exports, including shrimp, pangasius, tuna, and squid, have seen significant growth in the first 10 months of 2022. Shrimp exports reached nearly $3.8 billion, a 19% increase, and are expected to surpass $4.4 billion by year-end. Pangasius exports surged by 80% to nearly $2.2 billion, and tuna exports increased by 50% to $890 million. Squid and octopus exports also rose by 32% to $625 million. It is anticipated that seafood exports will surpass $10 billion by November, setting a new record for the industry. The fisheries sector is projected to contribute 3% to Vietnam's total merchandise exports, accounting for nearly 12% of the domestic export value.
