The Regulatory Council of the Peach de Calanda Designation of Origin (PDO) in Spain predicts a 20-30% decrease in peach production this year due to summer hail damage, with the final figure dependent on the weather. Agriculture Minister Joaquín Olona emphasized the importance of the PDO seal in achieving profitability for farmers. A 3.2 million euros budget is available for promoting food with differentiated quality from Aragon. The La Chipranesca cooperative, which supplies various fruits and achieved over 10 million euros in sales in 2020, plays a key role in concentrating supply and increasing competitiveness.
