Due to drought, high fertilizer costs, a seed shortage, and financial difficulties, the winter herbaceous sowing campaign is facing challenges, with delayed CAP advance payments adding to the burden. Despite these obstacles, sowing has been progressing at a good pace due to October rains, with 90% of durum wheat and 50% of soft wheat already planted in the province of Seville. In the face of water scarcity, uncertain forecasts, and rising costs for seeds and fertilizers, farmers are being pushed to opt for crops with less water needs, which may have a significant impact on spring sowing.
