Vietnam has seen a significant increase in its agricultural, forestry, and fishery exports in the first five months of 2021, with a 30.3% rise compared to the same period last year, reaching 22.83 billion USD. This growth is evident across various product categories, including a 13.0% increase in main agricultural products, a 61.8% increase in forest products, and a 12.0% increase in seafood. The US, China, Japan, and Korea are the primary markets for these exports. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is actively exploring opportunities to further boost exports to China, Thailand, and the EU. The ministry also anticipates a surge in demand for agricultural products due to the Covid-19 pandemic and improved epidemic control in European countries.
