Since the beginning of 2025, up to the present moment, 191 outbreaks of sheep and goat pox have been recorded in the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, affecting 8 regions of the country. This was informed by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Todorov in response to a parliamentary question regarding the need for vaccination against sheep and goat pox in the context of the European Union's recommendations to Greece.
