Exports of Brazilian nut from January to May 2020 reached up to 1,544 mt - FOB at US$ 7.9 millions value, this means 29% less volume and 51% less value YOY. The main problem is the concentration of exports in one market, South Korea.
In 2018, South Korea purchased 5,821 mt of brazilian nuts from Peru valued in FOB US$ 64.7 millions becoming their most important market with 77% share. Unfortunately, in 2019 Korean demand dropped 67% value which meant a lost of 21% volume (4,595 mt) and 49% less value (FOB US$ 32.9 millions) in the Peruvian exports. Still, South Korea was their most important market with 44% share.
