Greece started 2021 with high demand for cucumbers amid low production in Spain

The export demand and prices for cucumbers have been stable in Greece up until the end of 2020 however, driven mainly by the losses in cucumber yield in Spain, the demand for Greek cucumbers has risen impacting the prices as well.
Cucumber prices during November - December were around €0,25-0,30 per kg while with the demand hike, the same prices increased up to €1 per kg. Spain is the global market leader in cucumber farming and having a bad yield due to unfavorable weather conditions, has made importers turn to Greek exporters.
