Last Thursday the Federal Fisheries Council (CFP) presented a summary report on the content of the meeting of the Commission for analysis and monitoring of the Patagonian scallop species carried out virtually on Tuesday, July 28 last.

Based on the foregoing, but also taking into account the regulatory framework in force in this fishery, the CFP is requested to evaluate the possibility of enabling the activity in areas where they have not operated, nor are they being researched/surveyed.

Fishing companies reiterated the request to use the drag efficiency coefficient of 50% instead of the one currently proposed by the
National Institute for Fisheries Research and Development (INIDEP) of 67%, which according to the review workshop contains errors and results in lower biomass.
