The Selce 81 pumping station in Karnobat has experienced a breakdown, cutting off irrigation for local pepper producers for five days during the height of summer, causing significant losses and yellowing of plantations. The executive director of the Bulgarian Pepper Association, Georgi Vassilev, has protested to both the Minister of Agriculture and the President. However, repairs at the Velkovo 82 pumping station were completed on time, and current repairs at Selce 81 are expected to be finished soon, with water supply expected to be restored. The country's agricultural irrigation is currently functioning normally, despite these incidents.
