The Ministry of Agriculture in Indonesia, in collaboration with various partners, has successfully harvested high-yielding sweet potato varieties in Jelekong Village, Bandung Regency. This project, which has developed 10,000 cuttings of a purified sweet potato variety across 10 hectares, aims to increase sweet potato production and improve farmers' welfare. The collaboration also includes a Sweet Potato Commodity Local Food Development Demonstration Program, which promotes the cultivation of superior varieties and provides certified seeds to meet demand. The Ministry of Agriculture's support for sweet potato farming as a profitable business and the use of local food for nutrition and export is highlighted, aiming to address the challenge of declining sweet potato productivity and promoting local agriculture.
