The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in Indonesia has released 21,000 lobster seeds that were previously confiscated, with the intention of boosting the local economy through domestic cultivation. These seeds, which were being smuggled to Vietnam, were recovered after a thwarted smuggling attempt. The Ministry is actively spreading awareness to prevent such illegal activities and is working towards strengthening national lobster cultivation and exports once the lobsters have grown to a suitable size for consumption.
