Japanese Miyazaki Mango Grown in India (Feb 20)

The Japanese Miyazaki variety will be grown in West Bengal. It is a type of Irwin mango that differs from the yellow mango growing in Southeast Asia. The Indian government plans to establish a mango orchard in Bengal's English Bazar block after bringing the Miyazaki mango plants from Japan.

Brazil

Palmer Mango Appreciates for the Seventh Consecutive Week (Feb 20)

In the São Francisco Valley (PE/BA), the price of palmer mangos increased due to a supply reduction. The average price stood at USD 0.37/kg (BRL 1.92/kg), an increase of 12% WoW. Mango producers expect reduced availability throughout February, at the end of March supply is forecasted to increase. 

Kenya

Kenya Commences Mango Shipments to Jordan in W8 (Feb 23)

Kenya commenced mango export to Jordan in W8 after the approval of pest control measures by the Jordanian official that visited Kenya for inspection. The level of maturity of mango is high, with the most preferred mode of shipment being air. In W8, the FOB price for mango is USD 0.75/kg.

Peru

Peruvian Fresh Mango Exports Grow 7% In Volume up to W5 of This Campaign (Feb 20)

The Peruvian Association of Mango Producers and Exporters (APEM) reported that from the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign to the end of W5, Peru exported 164.9K tons of fresh mangoes, an increase of 7% compared to the 154.2K tons shipped in the same period of the previous 2021/22 campaign. The main market destination of the 2022/23 campaign is Europe, which concentrated 46.2%, with 76.2K tons.  

Taiwan

Taiwan Mango Season Set to Start in Mid-May 2023 (Feb 20)

The Taiwan mango season, which begins in mid-May 2023, is anticipated to be good. Compared to the low output and high price season of 2022, production will rise significantly in 2023. The selling price from the beginning of 2022's season was USD 5.3/kg to USD 6/kg, and according to a local grower, the selling price for 2023 is estimated to be around USD 3.33/kg to USD 4/kg.
