There is a lot of coconut plantations along the bay of Myanmar sea. Due to the low-profit margin in the export market, Myanmar suppliers are a bit reluctant to export coconut as a raw material or just fresh produce. Most suppliers are selling coconuts in the domestic market as coconut drinks are highly popular among locals and tourists. Some suppliers are investing in production technology and facilities to make value-added coconut products such as coconut oil, coconut sugar, and coconut cream which could be resold for higher profits.
