Brazilian bananas have a strong sustainable advantage. While most banana traditional producing countries apply more than 60 pesticides spraying in the year, Brazilian producers apply only 12. Despite this great competitive advantage and also being the fourth-largest producer in the world, Brazil has a smaller role in banana global trade.
It may be related to the small production surplus, as well as the lack of adequate knowledge about export management. Either way, they feel like they need a push to believe in the development of this market.
