The total production of vegetables in Russia significantly increased in 2020. Mainly that was due to the fact that greenhouses that began to implement in 2018 were finally built. Back to that time, there was a measure of state support to reimburse capital expenditures, and preferential investment loans were issued. Together those measures brought high raise in construction in that industry.
In 2019-2020, these greenhouses were finally built and now they are reaching their design capacity.
Today, investment projects in the industry are not so attractive, since state support measures have been cancelled, wholesale prices are falling and there are almost no people willing to enter the fruit and vegetable industry.
In this regard, the situation in the industry may worsen in Russia in the near future.
