Peanut Kernel
Brazil
PDF File Preview
China is the biggest producer of peanuts in the world, taking up approximately 43% of total production in 2018. India placed second after China, taking up approximately 16.5% of the world’s production share, and Nigeria third at 7.1%. Demand for peanuts has mostly recovered to its pre-covid levels as exports are getting a boost of 10% for the 2020/21 season from good demand from Southeast Asia, and Europe, and China, despite the 15% import duty on Indian groundnuts. Chinese demand is fueled by unsatisfactory production for this season, for which India has in contrast, seen a bumper harvest during the Kharif (monsoon or autumn) crop season. This report addresses an overview of the global peanut market landscape, including consumption, and production & exports. Emphases are on a few global key players including India, Argentina, the US, and Brazil.
