Explore Price Chart

In Price Chart, you can analyze data using two different features for enhanced visualization: (1) Line Graph (2) Data Table. Start to explore the price chart by optimizing the visualization.

Optimize visualization

Before exploring the price chart, you can set the criteria of options to optimize the data visualization.

How to optimize the data visualization:

  1. Click the period interval dropdown at the left side of the page. You can select daily, weekly or monthly. The default period interval is set to weekly.
  2. Select the period button next to the period interval dropdown to choose the date range. You can select 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, etc. You can also customize the date range by clicking the calendar icon, selecting the start date and end date and click Confirm. The default date range is set to 1 year.
  3. Choose the currency at the right side of the page. You can select USD or Original currency. The default is Original currency.
  4. Choose the unit at the right side of the page. You can select KG or original unit. The default is Original unit.
  5. Click the Show Historical Estimation toggle if you want to obtain data over a wide data range.
  6. Click the Show Future Estimation toggle if you want to predict future price trends.

Note: Historical Estimation is the feature that provides historical estimated price value based on Tridge's accurate predictions of historical prices with our advanced data analytics. Future Estimation is the feature that predicts future trends with Tridge's accurate forecasts of future prices, computed through our advanced machine learning analytics on diverse market constraints and variables.

Explore price chart by line graph

In this feature, you can check the price data trends of selected entries. You can select up to 20 entries from the table below.

  • Entry: A single price data entry is a unique combination of product and regional attributes. Product attributes include product variety, grade, and other attributes, while regional attributes include market country, market region, origin country, and origin region. Each distinct combination of product and regional attributes is counted as a unique entry.
  • Data point: A single data point is the actual data value corresponding to a specific date. The data points connect to form the line on the graph.

Features of the graph

  • The x-axis represents the date of price data.
  • The y-axis represents the price data.
  • The solid line on the graph indicates periods with data.
  • The dashed line indicates periods with no data.
  • The dotted point indicates estimated data. If the point is in the past period, it represents historical estimated data. If the point is in the future period, it represents forecasted data.

Tips for interaction with the graph

  • Select entries with single currency/unit from the table below for better visibility.
  • Hover your mouse over the time step to check detailed data. Tooltip shows detailed price data and rate of change compared to the previous time step.
  • Turn on or off each entry by clicking the entry name at the bottom of the chart. The entry name turns gray when the entry is not displayed.

Note: The data marked with as asterisk(*) represents estimated data - historical estimation and future estimation.

Explore price chart by data table

In this feature, you can check the price data trends for all entries. The fixed column on the left represents the details of the custom search condition, while the right column corresponds to the data points.

  • Entry: A single price data entry is a unique combination of product and regional attributes. Product attributes include product variety, grade, and other attributes, while regional attributes include market country, market region, origin country, and origin region. Each distinct combination of product and regional attributes is counted as a unique entry.
  • Data point: A single data point is the actual data value corresponding to a specific date.

Columns of the table

Modify columns of the table by selecting the options. Click Manage Columns dropdown and select the checkbox of options. You can select more than 1 option.

You can select the columns about the following options:

  • Country (only for farmgate search): The country that produces or exports the product.
  • Market Country (only for wholesale search): The country where the product is imported or traded in the market.
  • Region: The region of the country. Region filter only activates when users select the country.
  • Variety: The specific variety of the product. For example, there are varieties of fresh apples such as Hongmu, Hahyang and Golden Delicious.
  • Currency/Unit: The currency and unit of price data. It will show the currency/unit combination that you have selected along with combinations of other options below.
  • Grade: The quality of the product. For example, there are grades of fresh apple such as Grade C, Grade B and Grade A.
  • Origin Type: The origin of product. It would be either Imported or Domestic.
  • Origin Country (only for wholesale search): The country that produces or exports the product
  • Origin Region: The region of the origin country.
  • Packaging Type: The packaging method of the product. For example, there are vacuum packed, individually wrapped, mesh bags, etc.
  • Remarks: Remarks contain additional information about price, product status, etc. For example, it could contain information such as tax excluded, Repacked: Local.
  • Other Attributes: Other various attributes that are not listed in custom search. There are size, form, style, cultivation type, color, etc.
  • Source: The source of data. For example, it could be a government research institute, major research institute or major media.

Tips for interaction with table

  • Entry order is based on the recency of data and the total amount of data.
  • Select the entries by clicking the checkbox at the left side of the table.
    • You can visualize selected entries as the line graph.
    • You can download data of selected entries as a CSV file.
  • Select up to 5 columns for better visibility.
  • Click the tab Selected if you want to view only selected data.
